Most people think of 3D printers as machines which slowly build things up (additive manufacturing) on top of a flat surface. While this does work well for the most part, what about when you want to build parts like springs or propellers? Cylindrical geometries, large negative spaces, significant overhangs; these are areas where your typical 3D printer might have some trouble.

Enter the Lathe-Type 3D Printer. Printing on a cylindrical surface means you have a print-bed which is naturally suited for parts with round geometries.
